Frank Sherwood White

Frank Sherwood White received a degree in photography from The Rochester Institute of Technology in the late 1970's and resides in Houston, TX. He is a Lecturer at Rice University’s School of Architecture, where he has taught photography for the past 20 years.

Beginning in the mid 80’s, White suffered from an undiagnosed brain tumor, which severely impacted his ability to function. After making a full recovery, he emerged with a significantly altered view about what is important, and has since dedicated himself to creating images that ask the viewer to expand beyond their automatic thinking and to consider other plausible perspectives.
