Jane Tuckerman received a M.F.A. in Photography from R.I.S.D. and has worked as both a photographer and educator for more than 30 years, most noteably at Harvard University, Smith College and The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.
Tuckerman's work has been inspired by a lifelong fascination with the intersection and overlap between tribal and organized religious rituals and the contrasting ways in which people understand and deal with the juxtaposition of life and death.
Her work appears in numerous collections including MoMA, Musuem of Fine Arts Boston, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.
