Obscured View
Photographic Work of Sarah Rocca
June, 2021 - July, 2021
Opening Reception: June 24th, 6-8pm

Sarah is a self portrait artist who creates her own unique world of characters aimed at bringing the viewer on a journey through story and time. With the use of her camera on a self timer, Sarah is able to capture emotion from behind as well as in front of the lens. Her use of single subjects with faces partially or completely covered give a sense that each of these characters could, in fact, be you.

She believes that raw emotion can be translated through art and uses imagery to tell her stories of anxiety, depression, heartache and love. From the making of her own masks to shooting self portraits using her drone, Sarah works to create from unique perspectives, prompting her audience to question not only why something was created, but how. This body of work represents years of transformation and exploration into who Sarah is as an artist and as a person.
